AutoZone Fires Worker Who Stopped Robbery

An AutoZone worker who stopped an armed robbery by retrieving a weapon from his truck said he was fired by the company for violating their gun policy.

Devin McLean and his store manager were about to close the AutoZone in York County, help Va. when a gunman barged into the store.

“He pulled a gun from his waist band and demanded me and my manager go back into the office, discount ” McLean told Fox News.

At some point, McLean was left in a restroom while the gunman made the manager open the store safe. That’s when McLean, a 23-year-old Air Force veteran, bolted through a side door and ran to his truck.

He returned through the front door holding a Glock 40 – pointed directly at the masked robber.

“I told him to freeze and to drop his weapon,” McLean told Fox News.

Instead, the robber took off – last seen running down the street from the store.-[source]

El Paso County Sheriff’s Strike Team Recover Stolen Firearm

El Paso County Sheriff’s Strike Team members recovered a stolen firearm and arrested a man who was attempting to sell it, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Humberto Martinez, 31, was arrested Monday by Strike Team members, who were following up on information that a man was attempting to sell a handgun at two locations.

Deputies said the firearm is the same weapon that was stolen during an vehicle burglary on Sunday along the 14400 block of Gateway West.

Martinez was charged with theft of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond is $40,000. The investigation continues and additional charges may be coming.-[source]

Forest-camouflaged pickups roared to life as the Mexican soldiers pulled on their black masks and hoisted their Heckler & Koch G3 assault rifles.

The three-truck convoy pulled out of the base to patrol the rugged, mountainous region of the western state of Michoacan, when a raspy voice burst out of an unencrypted radio inside one of the cabs: “Three R’s, 53.” Three army vehicles, headed your way.

It wasn’t a soldier’s voice. The radio had picked up a call from the Knights Templar, a quasi-religious drug cartel that controls the area and most of the state. Its web of spies monitors the movements of the military and police around the clock. The gang’s members not only live off methamphetamine and marijuana smuggling and extortion, they maintain country roads, control the local economy and act as private debt collectors for citizens frustrated with the courts, soldiers say.

“Because they’re vigilant and well-organized they roll around here with a lot of ease,” said Lt. Col. Julices Gonzalez Calzada, the leader of the patrol.

Felipe Calderon launched his presidency in December 2006 by sending the army to Michoacan, his home state, to battle organized crime that he said threatened to expand from drug trafficking to controlling civil society. His administration says it has debilitated many of the cartels with a leadership-focused offensive that has killed or captured 25 of the country’s 37 most-wanted men.-[source]

30 States Petition Feds To Secede After Election

Liberals often like to compare President Barack Obama to former President Abraham Lincoln. The comparison is usually dismissed as laughably hagiographical, viagra but judging by one unexpected bit of fallout from Tuesday’s election, cure it could well end up being accurate in just one respect: Like Lincoln, Obama is facing requests by the citizens of numerous states to secede from the union.

However, unlike with Lincoln, these requests are peaceful, and highly unlikely to do anything at all except generate news headlines. A massive number of petitions are currently circulating on Change.org, a website designed to call for action by the federal government or by private institutions on particular causes, calling for particular states to be granted permission to secede…

Is this simply the product of a few thousand discontents in each individual state? Perhaps. But Texas’ petition has over 40,000 signatures, well over the 25,000 necessary to reach the attention of the President. If this turns out to be more than the discontented murmurings of a single state, this story may get ugly.-[source]

Russian Woman Attacked By Wolf, Axes It To Death

Beware of 56-year-old Russian women with axes.

A lone wolf attacked Aishat Maksudova outside her sister’s home in Russia’s province of Dagestan in the North Caucasus Mountains.

The animal bit the farmer on her arm and her leg and she fell to the ground, crying out for help from other villagers. No one was in earshot. So she reached for an ax she had brought along to repair a fence, and with remarkable aplomb, she hit the wolf over the head several times until his teeth unclenched.

The wolf later died.

Maksudova has become a hero in the Caspian Sea province that lies east of Chechnya. She was still being treated for her wounds Tuesday at a local hospital after last week’s incident. Doctors said she is recuperating well.-[source]

Peoria Police Seek Info On SUV, Gun Thief

Peoria Police are looking for a man who stole an SUV that contained approximately 20 firearms.

Police say the SUV was stolen on May 26 about 12:45 p.m., from the parking lot of the Diamond Shamrock, near 83rd Ave and Cactus.

The victim stopped at the gas station and couldn’t start his vehicle, so he called for help from a family member. He put his belongings in the family member’s SUV. The guns were among his belongings.

Someone who was hanging out outside the gas station got into the driver’s seat and fled with the guns.

That suspect was caught on surveillance video inside the Diamond Shamrock convenience store. He went into the store to buy a bottle of water and get change for the pay phone.

The stolen vehicle has since been recovered, but the guns have not. Detectives have run out of leads and are now releasing the photos in hopes someone can identify the suspect.

He is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male 20 to 30 years old, 5’6″ to 5’8″, 140 to 160 lbs., dark hair in a crew cut. He has a large colorful tattoo on his left forearm and a smaller tattoo on the inside of his right forearm.

Video Game Takes Players Into World Of American Revolution

It seems like we’re not done with the “horses and bayonets” meme quite yet. Instead of a political dig though, diagnosis the “old-fashioned” battle equipment is showing up in another unlikely place: a video game.

Although it’s not expected to be the most popular of video games depicting war, find which today usually involve computer-graphics imagery of tanks and machine guns and Tet offensives, treat  Assassin’s Creed III is due for release Tuesday, immersing players in Colonial America and the Revolutionary War. At the same time though, the creators said they were sure to avoid an overly pro-American theme.

There will be key cameos from George Washington, Ben Franklin and other Founding Fathers.

In some ways, the game is meticulous with historical accuracy. Great attention was paid to research to recreate the cities of New York and Boston on a one-third scale. History professors were brought in as consultants.-[source]

Police Found 15 AK-47 Rifles In Illegal Alien’s Car

Yesterday afternoon at around 3 p.m., dosage Dallas police were sent to check out a silver Pontiac sedan parked suspiciously in an Oak Cliff alley. Officers waited for the driver to pull away, cheap then performed a traffic stop on the 2400 block of Brooklyn Avenue after the car made an illegal turn.

Police arrested the driver, 24-year-old Jesus Gonzalez, for driving without a license and not wearing a seat belt. But a search of the vehicle turned up something not commonly found during routine traffic stops: 15 AK-style assault rifles.

Police suspect Gonzalez is in the country illegally. He was taken to Dallas County jail where he is being detained at the request of DPD. He has not yet been formally charged.

Police spokeswoman Sherri Jeffrey said the department has no information on how Gonzalez came to be in possession of such a large number of assault weapons, where they came from, or what he planned to do with them.-[source]

Teens Arrested For Firing Shots, Ramming Police Car

Two people have been arrested after an officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning.

Officers were on patrol about 1:20 a.m. when they observed the front passenger of a red Ford Explorer fire 5 rounds from a handgun in the area of 113th Ave and Hadley.

Officers followed the vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield and fled the scene. Police pursued the vehicle to a dead end dirt road behind the Home Depot, buy information pills near Dysart and Coldwater Plaza, about it about 4 miles away.

The driver attempted to drive through a chain link fence which leads onto the access road to I-10. Officers pulled up behind the vehicle and yelled commands to them.

The suspect vehicle then reversed, ramming the marked police car.

The officer discharged his service weapon at the threat, and the driver and passenger surrendered.-[source]

Obama’s Class Warfare – Don’t Let Him Fool You Again

Have you noticed how the Obama campaign has stepped up its class warfare rhetoric as we draw closer to Election Day?

President Barack Obama constantly resorts to this tactic because he’s simply unable to defend his own record in office, medications as 23 million Americans are out of work or underemployed and the economy remains in distress.

Class warfare is all he has left.

But voters aren’t buying Obama’s polarizing rhetoric. In a Gallup survey about the 12 most important priorities this election year, approved the issue of “increasing taxes on wealthy Americans” came in dead last among voters.

Understandably, visit this site Americans are far more concerned with issues such as “creating good jobs,” “reducing corruption in the federal government” and “reducing the federal budget deficit,” among other important priorities.

Nonetheless, Obama relentlessly attacks Mitt Romney’s prosperity, as if being a successful businessman — who takes financial risks and creates jobs — were an automatic disqualifier for anyone running for the nation’s highest office.-[source]
