A new monument is coming to Wesley Bolin plaza, across from the state Capitol.
This one doesn’t honor a person or veterans of a war, but the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights.
What is the Bill of Rights? The first ten amendments to the Constitution.
It guarantees, to name a few — freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, the right to bear arms, trial by jury, and so on.
This monument will be the first of its kind in the United States.
“The bill of rights is the heart of the constitution, the most important document in human history, but there’s not a single monument of it. Arizona is going to have the first,” says Chris Bliss from mybillofrights.org.-[source]
